Yes, they're too slow and they seem to enjoy sitting at junctions all afternoon watching the traffic pass.

Yes, I was a learner once, but they pissed me off then too!

No, learners are allright. Its the GRANNYS, BEWARE OF THE GRANNY DRIVERS, were talking like 2 mph here! and they Actually waith through the yellow light until it turns green!

no i don’t hate learners everyone was a learner once did you hate them when you were learning to drive..... got stuck behind one today but i was patient and they soon sped up...
Reply 4
Don't hate us, we have to start somewhere and yes we have to keep to the speed limit.
Reply 5
I would rather them taking their time and keeping their speed down than making rash decisions/speeding and causing crashes. crashes would waste your time a lot more
Reply 6
Okay, you hate learner drivers. In that case, I hate all kids who go to school because they are using up valuable tax money.

that's why i said we were all learners once.

do learners really need to be practicing at 5pm when everyone's trying to get home from work as fast as possible? and do they need to try to play games? bah.

We get our lessons in when we can, I certainly don't think ok lets go out at peak time, I would rather go out when it's quiet. And for playing games sometimes some people deserve it, not saying you specifically.

I just hate drivers full stop.

Edit: on retrospect, they were probably trying to annoy me because I was trying to overtake - if you're a learner, don't even try to play games because you're not experienced enough and could end up losing control, as this moron almost did.

Or quite possibly they were scared if you were driving aggressively and trying to overtake. It might not have been their fault.
ive just passed my test and find it very amusing driving past the test centre everyday to college. i dont ming getting stuck behind learner drivers as everyone started of somewhere even you so i dont think we have the right to complain. There are plenty of experienced drivers who stick to the speed limit. I am scared of old grany drivers though. the ones who cant even see over the sterring wheel and can hardly see in front of them but still get behind the wheel. Many of them didnt even take a driving test and yet people moan about young drivers who have passed one of the hardest driving tests in the world. go figure!

5pm would be ideal it gives them practice for rush hour teaches them about awareness....i think everyone gets p***** off now an then!...

The main reason I hate learner drivers is because they are so unpredictable. They're not experienced, and when they're driving in a normal car (as this one before was), the passenger in the front has no control over the pedals. This means that as I overtake they could swerve or hit me.

Don't get me started on senile old people driving. Slamming on at traffic lights...when they're green... :frown:
I agree that im not sure about learner drivers in normal cars. I didnt drive a car without dual control until about 2 days before my test and hated it. quite often its only parents in the cars with their kids who dont have the training to deal with situations as passengers instead of as the driver.

Totally agree, my dad was driving on the motorway and there was this granny driving in her car from the 70s (damn nice car), but she was driving at about 40mph, hunched up over the wheel, and everyone had to squish into the fast lane to get past her! It was quite dangerous cuz everyone sped down the motorway as you are meant to (nice sunny day, not too many people on the road), and suddenly they all had to slow down cuz she was trodding along. She looked quite old so her judgement prolly wasn't great I guess, tho it could have potentially been quite dangerous.

As for learners...well I'm a new driver and only passed in June and I do wait awhile before I go at junctions/roundabouts, cuz frankly I'd rather have someone pissed off behind me, than be dead. I absolutely hate it when more experienced drivers beep me, acting all aggressive, trying to freak me out...it makes me really annoyed, and I'll go slower so they learn not to try and scare newbies.

People have to stop being ridiculously impatient on the town roads especially...it causes accidents.

Just be patient with them. Part of responsible driving is not getting stressed by stupid little things like a learner making a mistake. Shocking! A driver without much experience making a mistake.

How do you know it wasn't an instructor though? I know a lot of them (at least round here) don't bother with signs on their cars and such like, and just use L-plates.

there were people in the back of the car as well. an instructor wouldn't have let the driver slam on when we hit the 30 zone either.
