interesting........ is it possible to 'train' yourself to write in the opposite hand?

That would imply that the hand you use to write is due to nurtue, or you learn how to write using a particular hand..... hmmmm, think i may have found a great A2 psychology project now! woo

I was always left handed when I was little. However, I taught myself to write with my right hand when I was 6 because I used to smudge my work whenever I wrote with a pen (we generally only wrote in pencil at school at that age). Nowadays I rarely use my left hand to write (I can but the writing is a bit 6 year oldish, surprisingly!).

I am certain that its genetic, as when I picked up a guitar for the first time (a lot later than when I was 6) I held it left handed, and still can't play it any other way. The same with a hockey stick. Loads of other stuff like colouring in I automatically do with my left hand. However, just because something's genetic it doesn't mean it can't be overridden. I use cutlery and scissors right handed just because that's how I was originally taught to. When left to my own devices though, I'm still left handed!
