Just got set my English GCSE Original Writing coursework today. I have no idea what to do it about. The teacher has ruled out all of the "fun" ideas (writing a story, poetry, writing for children, legalising cannabis etc...), in an effort to make us go for something more challenging to increase our grades. I am in top set so I am predicted an A grade, but I don't think I will get one on this. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do it on?
Also any weblinks to past work would be nice!

Do something about WW1, it is such a rich field of information, and if written well, usually gains a good mark.

Yer pretty much, but if we do:
    a)poetry, or
    b)Writing for "young children"

then we have to do a "literal commentantry" and I've ruled that out!

i think, writing for young children, is harder to get a high grade, try making the theme something u'r interested in..............it's much easier!

What about an article (as in, for a magazine)? You could write about gun culture or rap music or something.
