It looks like a list of prominent Democrats.

But why do you disagree with Chomsky being on the list?

Sandra Day O'Connor, the one Senator to oppose granting the President unrestricted power in fighting "the war on terror"? How is she screwing up America? By defending liberal constitutionalism, a system of checks and balances on executive power?

Pretty much all of those people I've heard of I have a problem with their being on this list, as you'd expect, since they were picked by Republicans. "Ye Gods! The political left! They're verily destroying our country with their disagreement with government policy! Dissent will destroy this democracy!" Jefferson would be sick.

Who am I thinking of then?
Or is she the right person, wrong house?
I've yet to study the American political system in depth.

How is he destroying America by speaking the truth and bringing to light some of the manipulative tendancies of the United States. The guy is a world renowned MIT proffesor. Author of some very interesting and enlightening books. I have a lot of respect for him.

You know what Douglas, you really should move to China. I think you would love it. Anyone who speaks their mind (and says something negative about the Government) is thrown into jail. There are no Micheal Moores or Dixie Chicks, they are all tortured at reeducation camps.

It sounds like the perfect place for someone like yourself.

No idea which Senator you're referring to (didn't the Patriot Act pass unanimously?), but O'Connor is the centrist Supreme Court justice who has just resigned from the Court.

The guy has wrote numerous pieces condemning Jews along with coming up with wacky conspiracy theories involving the US government. FYI, he's a professor in linguistics, so it's completely irrelevant where he is a professor.
I see the star by your name, and let me tell you, I have read two of his books along with countless articles and publications written by him and I have never seen him mention anything bad about Jews. I dont know if you dug this up or you it was passed along to you, but dont believe the hype. MIT is a pretty good school, I think that says a lot.

Isn't Chomsky Jewish, himself? That still doesn't excuse his comments, just puts an interesting twist on the ordeal.
As for the list, I agree with Alexdel's propaganda statement - it's just a bunch of centrist/left-wingers. The same could be done about the Republicans. Proves nothing, really.

Propoganda techniques that have polarised our nation and the world and led us to war all the while stripping away the liberties and freedoms that make this country great.

And then the big daddie- his ecconomic policies that are strangling our country.

Does that mean we should ask the biology department of Harvard on their opinion of the North Korean problem?
That depends if the biology professor has written dozens of books on the matter.
I also read several of his articles, and there are few people in the world whom I abhor more than him. He's an anti-Semite (I don't care if he's Jewish), socialist, anti-American, who's deluded by his supposed intelligence, despite the fact that he knows absolutely nothing about politics. He should stick to writing about linguistics. From what I hear, he actually has a decent reputation in that field.
Anti-American, no, he is voicing his thoughts, which is very American. He thinks, and has the resources to back up, that the US is very manipulative in FP and has acted over aggressively in securing our national interests which often spill over into American-COPRPORATE interests. He is not a socialist, and like I said, I have never come across anything anti-Semitic about his mainstream work.

Manufacturing Consent and Chronicles of Dissent are almost required reading for any Poly Sci buff.
