    i can think of better ways of spending a few grand other than on some sofa....beer, clubbing, beer, men, beer, more men, clubbing, beer........

    especially funny when the item for sale is a book telling you 'how to become rich', so you buy and receive a piece of paper saying 'ha fool, you dont make money by writing checks'

    No because if they say 'only' it means it going to be cheaper than something else along the same lines. They dont refer to £4499 as being a small amount of money, the mean for the item it's cheap.

    But still the comparison is ridiculous. Even the reduced price product is still ridiculously expensive..

    To us yes, to the company who sell it perhaps not, the things companies sell cheap usually make a loss on it, just to get peopel into the shop looking at items that are more expensive, but more desirable..its called loss leader. Curries do it with their dishwasher, they are inelastic meaning they wil lbe bought anyway whatever the price, so attracting the customer to the company means they will probably look at more desirable items....but yes i wouldnt spend £4499 on anything apart from a car.
