fighting

I was coming out of a club near me last night and this kid started on me. He had a couple of mates around and he was pissed. I knew on his own i could have kicked the **** out of him but i didn't do anything as I was sober. I work out with most of the bouncers so they dealt with it for even though we were on the street.

I feel really bad for not doing anything, like a pussy but i knew the consequences and decided against it. what would you guys have done. Is it sometimes ok to let things lie.

you could have tried..... cos then you would have beat the kid... and the bouncers couldve sorted the rest.

I think you did the right thing as you were sensible enough to think about the consequences instead of acting on your own impulse  Alcohol makes you do stupid things sometimes.

You could always beat him up when he's sober - that would be a lot more satisfying. I guess sometimes it's better to let things lie, but a lot of the time you need to respond to show that you're not gonna take it. The thing is, you knew you could take the kid anyway, and the most important thing is that he knows it as well and doesn't start in future. I'd say...let this one go...but if he starts something again then introduce his face to the floor. Letting something go because it's pointless is one thing, but you don't have to take behaviour like that. You sound sensible enough to not get into pointless fights anyway.

i love fighting. its the only true way to release all your rage on a person, in a situation that allows you to do so, with satisfaction if u really do hate the person you are fighting.

of course it is. meh fighting is pointless unless your life is in danger. you dont have to prove anything, you did the right thing and you could have landed yourself in serious truble had you fought him.

i agree. if ther is more of them, try to avoid confrontation coz u cud end up getting ureself ****ed up if they r complete nutters.
walking away from fights is usually the best thing to do except when self defence is necessary. usually confusing loutish youths with wit works more efficiently as then they know they can't stand up to you on any level whether physical or intellectual :d
You sound like a child who wants to assert himself in a horribly crude manner. Do you have some kind of masculinity complex?

I wouldn't ever fight sober unless 100% neccessary 'cos the risk of someone bottling you or whatever far outweighs just walkin' away. Can have harsh consequences aswell, even if it is self-defense. After a few drinks would be a different story though really.
You did the right thing - there's no point in getting yourself hurt unless you absolutely have to. What's so "brave" about getting a bottle smashed in your face for no reason? I'd call it stupid, personally :p:

If you would have hit him, he could claim intoxication if you brought charges against him. You could claim self defence!
The law is clear on this matter - both have defences so feel free to kick seven shades of faeces out of the kid!
