I was just wondering if anybody else experiences this when they are sleeping; you wake but can't move, open your eyes or talk. Sometimes i find it quite scary when it happens. You are aware of everything around but you can't do anything. This happens to me now and again and I was just wondering if anybody else has experienced it?

Yeah, happens often when I'm really really tired. My mind wakes up, but my body doesn't respond when I try and move or talk or anything. Usually, my body wakes up after a minute or two, but if not I just drift off back to sleep. It was quite scary the first time, but it happens quite often that I've got used to it - not sure it's suppose to happen or not, but it doesn't do me any harm.

My mum had that happened to her when she was a child, she thought she was being crushed by a ghost  But I'm sure she was just being superstitious.

it's never happened to me but i've heard of it - i think it's called sleep paralysis. there you go, now you have a name for it. on a similar note, has anyone ever woken up with a completely dead arm and then hit themselves in the face with it? bloody hurts.
