I dont dislike gay people, but you do have to admit that in terms of evolution being gay is definitely an unbeneficial 'adaptation' or mutation so therefore could be counted as a disability.

That's ridiculous.

I am sure there is some evolutionary benefit to mankind overall; I read an article which was based on a study showing that having a gay brother in the family increased the fertility of the sisters. Also being gay could be seen to create social bonding between males which may have an overall positive effect to survival of the species. Less fighting between males and more pro social behaviour towards each other/others.
I wouldn't class it as a disability, would you call straight couples who don't have kids "disabled"?
IMO having kids is not the be all and end all of life and with the current over population issues in the world it wouldn't hurt to have a few more gay people thrown into the mix!

It is. Why do you people even care anyway?! Seabiscuit - what is your obsession with homosexuality and its causes all about?!
Reply 64
Not obsessed red mate, just replied on two topics to counter all these arguments that 'gay is yay' or its natural or something. The gay contigent on this board spew out so many pro-gay statements and then attack you or call you 'homophobic' if you don't agree.

I feel many people are afraid of challenging these views in case they are jumped on by you guys

i think many people feel intimidated by gay people, thus feel the need to insult them. ahh well, losers will be losers.

1 in 10, I seriously doubt that... that makes 100 members of parliament.. 200 people in my college, seriously think about it

You can't say that.. figures such as 1/10 are for all generations/ages. It's kinda like suggesting, "well in that case, 20 newborn babies in a hospital are gay.." ?..!
% of homosexuals probably increase as age increases - as you tend to explore and learn during your adolescent yrs

Why oh why do people say that? Its the same with the term "homophobic"? Scared of gays? Nope not in my case. Its not that I hate them myself - its just when people come out with statements like its natural, that I want to challenge that view and such as that guy saying it could be like a disability that you guys find it hard to take without resorting to childish insults... as what happened to every thread ive responded to.

Given the problems we've seen, in this country and others, over sexuality-related issues, it is hardly surprising that anyone with the slightest interest in gay rights is determined to defend them. Saying that homosexuality is a sort of disability does rather sound like an insult.
You, Seabiscuit, clearly misunderstand the real meaning of '-phobe'. Yes, etymologically (phobos), it means 'fear', but its scientific definition also covers hatred.
What do you mean, homosexuality isn't natural? Define 'natural'. Humans are animals too.
As fivebyfive (well said mate!) pointed out, looking at our current overpopulation issues, homosexuality seems like a perfectly reasonable, indeed natural, solution. Especially since we can now have 'bush babies'...

Fair enough. The geezer who said it managed to back up his point. That was reasonable enough.

Its going to be clear that the homosexuals are going to be insulted by ANYTHING that people say about it because its so personal to them so the only alternative is to stop these type of threads or at least allow people with a differing viewpoint to comment. (The natural point was covered in another thread but I brought it up because red prompted me.)

I'm not even going into the religious side of things because I know that'll cause even more arguments...

Slightly hypocritical of you to make the above comment about childish insults when only a few hours ago you used the term "arse bandit", if that doesn't come under the category of childish insult I don't know what does?!

Seabiscuit
Got to laugh at the people giving me neg rep because I'm not an arse bandit... .

Homosexuality is perfectly natural to me/others; I understand that is certainly not the case for everyone.
What really saddens me that a love between two people can cause such hatred in some. Weather its deemed natural by everyone or not is not really important to me.
In all my years I have never heard a decent argument to support the idea that homosexuality is morally wrong. At the end of the day we live in a world lacking in love, why ruin what little remains?
I reckon there is only ONE gay person in the world!!

You're a complete tosser.

I can't even be bothered to explain my contradictions on your comments as they're so completely irrelevant and inane. Won't you just sod off?
Reply 74
Fine I admit that comment was a bit out of order five but compared with the amount of insults against me like the ones above just because they don't agree with me is way more and even on reasons for neg rep and so on. Its not just on this thread.

Can't be bothered? Don't say anything then puk - because you just proved everything I said - just typical

The natural point was specifically in relation to the thread about genetic traits and homosexuality...
