Guys. I'm in ballroom. I know roughly half of my friends are gay.
A few misconceptions;
- For those of you using the 'G.O.D' argument - I'm not Christian. I'm an agnostic. What do you say to those who metaphorically flip the bird to Christian values? Perhaps it's an alternative culture, le gasp. Perhaps it's not /actually/ a dictat by the Almighty to be 'not gay' or 'gay'. One of my best mates is Catholic, and openly homosexual.
- Ten percent. Yep. True.
- It's population control. Nature uses it in other species/colonies. When the population per land mass grows too great, 'homosexual' strains are found in the individual. No, they don't have kids - look at China/India/Africa, man. That's a *good* thing.
- It's not a choice. The people who live the way they do have a right to live that way, for the same reason you choose to live as a Conservative or Liberalist or not. I have not listened to eight guys talk me through their come-out without picking up that they are deeply, deeply unhappy not being who they are.
And I think you'll find that anti-gay attitudes come under 'bigotry' and 'asshat-y'. And thus, I mock.
