hmmm,
Guys. I'm in ballroom. I know roughly half of my friends are gay.

A few misconceptions;

- For those of you using the 'G.O.D' argument - I'm not Christian. I'm an agnostic. What do you say to those who metaphorically flip the bird to Christian values? Perhaps it's an alternative culture, le gasp. Perhaps it's not /actually/ a dictat by the Almighty to be 'not gay' or 'gay'. One of my best mates is Catholic, and openly homosexual.

- Ten percent. Yep. True.

- It's population control. Nature uses it in other species/colonies. When the population per land mass grows too great, 'homosexual' strains are found in the individual. No, they don't have kids - look at China/India/Africa, man. That's a *good* thing.

- It's not a choice. The people who live the way they do have a right to live that way, for the same reason you choose to live as a Conservative or Liberalist or not. I have not listened to eight guys talk me through their come-out without picking up that they are deeply, deeply unhappy not being who they are.

And I think you'll find that anti-gay attitudes come under 'bigotry' and 'asshat-y'. And thus, I mock.

nice speach. however you said that ten percent of the population being gay is a misconception, yet you agreed with that figure.
in the song, Lazyboy - Facts of Life

It says that 5% of the population is gay....

Urgh. Clearly I'm not awake... I meant to say, 'correcting a few misconceptions'. Either my keyboard cut it - which is likely as my laptop is new, or ... I forgot to type it. Which is likelier. Thanks for pointing it out.

Oh, and on the subject of nitpicks - sorry - 'speech'.

If he's openly homosexual, then he's got to look long and hard at what the Bible says about this. If you don't care for Christianity - well then that's you. Let me get this clear - are I and people like me allowed to challenge homosexuality and what people say about it without people like Whizz Kid trying to be smart?

Do you really know what the Bible says about homosexuality? Or, for that matter, anything else? How good is your Hebrew?
And why do you feel a need to 'challenge' homosexuality? What is challenging it anyway?

What exactly DOES the Bible say about this?

That thou whom indulge in anal sex shalt be smote by God himself.
Actually, he's intimately aware with the sections of the Bible that deal with it. As am I - I go to a Christian, private school.

And yeah. He's read it. And decided that he's still okay. And our chaplain agrees.

To be honest, it's neither here nor there if a Christian is gay anyway. Technically they are loved as children of God, and as God is a forgiving God who created man in HIS image anyway - then arguably he is responsible for the intricacies of humanity.

Jesus died for the atonement of OUR sins - helllllloooooooooo!!!!!!

AND I don't mean that from a Christian perspective, because I actually don't believe Jesus died for our sins at all, but for a Christian to argue that homosexuality leads to eternal damnation essentially contradicts the entire essence of Christianity.

___________

You cannot call homosexuality a disability, it doesn't in itself actually prevent the individual or disable them from doing anything (all you fundamentalists can go whistle - gay people are still capable of sexual reproduction).
