You know that it is often mooted that the UEFA Cup is worth more when it featured the runners-up and a few other teams from countries when the European Cup only had the league winners from each country?

If you count Old first division league wins (well you should really), then you are a LONG way from beating Arsenal

He had a broken toe, it's not life threatening and there's no way it would end his career to relapse.

Should Everton have a say in whether he goes to the World Cup? They found him, they brought him up, they put him in the first team, they made him into a £27m player. The answer is NO, because clubs should have absolutely no say in any matters concerning international football. People associated with club football have proved themselves to be money grubbing, selfish, egocentric ******s who only look out for themselves. Well football isn't about the self either in physical or philosophical terms. It is about a team, a group working together. In playing for your country you play for every person in that country. International football isn't a business, you don't play for bonuses or 3 points, you play for the pride and glory that comes with knowing you've done your country justice and made them proud (incidentally, something those jock monkeys up north wouldn't understand).
No, Everton shouldn't have a say because he isn't contracted to them any more, but if he was, of course they would have a say. However, Rooney's progression has been exponentional since he went to Manchester United and they want to protect their investment. Without club football there is no international football worth talking about; the two are intrinsically linked.

However the point "international football isn't a business" is absolute tosh. Just ask Ronaldo about that!
