Anyone ever had a fractured cheekbone?

I've got fractured cheekbone and the hospital have gave me an appointment to go to a specialist. Just wondered what it is they do to you :redface:

and how long it takes to heal. :frown:

How did it happen? I nearly got a fractured cheekbone a couple of months ago when I ran into a lamp post (don't ask...!)

I fractured my cheekbone not long ago in an car accident, luckily the xrays showed that the fracture wasnt serious and it was left to heal on its own, I didnt need any surgery or further treatment. I still get pain under my eye every now and again though, and Ive suffered from headaches ever since.

Sorry to hear about this, n_m. I can't say for sure what they'll do - I assume you've had X-rays and stuff done? If not, then they'll do them. They'll need to look to see if any bits of bone have been displaced etc and if it needs wiring or anything (though I doubt it - if it did, you'd probably be in hospital getting it done right away!). Hope it heals up soon!
