I go for guys my age or older, but a year younger than me wouldn't bother me. It matters more to teens because we're put into year groups so the age gap is more obvious.

As a general rule, girls tend to be more mature than guys though...so this girl is probably as mature as a guy your age XD

To be honest i prefer guys older thatn me. I went out with a guy younger than me once and it was a disaster. He was quite immature.

what about guys going out with older girls?

I think its a bit wierd really, but then im on a gap year so have still got the top down mentality from school, whereas my friends at uni are at the bottom of the pile looking up and 2 of them have gfs who are older than them.

I've always been told (by girls) that they are more mature at a younger age and so will tend to end up with guys older than them because of the maturity difference between them and guys their age and below.
I think the problem is not males taking too long to mature, but females never maturing. If you think about what is considered 'normal' behaviour from girl, then you might see what I'm getting at. Hence why we gents don't give a crap.

as far as i can tell the main difference between guys and girls is the fact that girls spend all their time *****ing about other girls whereas we spend all our time complaining about girls.

If you think about it age doesn't really matter. As long as your on the same level emotionally theres no problem.

You know i've just been thinking about this some more and it's actually kinda bizaare how all of my friends have older boyfriends / younger girlfriends
Even me!! - even if it is by 14 days :p:
The only other one that's a non-noticeable difference is Em and Dave which is like 3 months
But Tim's nearly 2 years older than Bex
So Coxy must be 2 years older than Lu
Lma's 2 years older than Gemma
Dickey is like 4 years older than Kay  (cradle snatcher...)
Nicky's i dunno how many years younger than Michael but he's like a sleazy old man anyway even if he is only 20 or something
Katy's a year younger than Ash
Al WAS 3 years older than Hazel...
    This is quite bizaare

My brother, who's 16 is going out with a girl a year older than him and she doesn't seem to mind - they've been together nearly 2 years! I suppose it depends on how you both feel individually. It's gonna get hard for my brother this year when his gf is interested in clubbin, and he cant get in cuz he's only 16!! Personally, it wouldn't bother me too much

For girls mainly... do you ever go for guys younger than you? im talking 1 or 2 years tops... or is it like most people I know and you prefer older men. Obviously this is a personal choice, but just curious to know if its a consideration at all....
My mum went out with a 15 year old for about three or four months when she was 18... apparently he was really mature and they liked the same kind of things (they both played the cello in their county youth orchestra) so why not!?

I would if I really liked them and they were mature, so the age difference wasn't noticeable. Having said that, I'm sure I'd prefer someone a bit older...not even sure why.

My girlfriend is 7 years older than me - we were pretty conscious of the age difference at first, but we love each other so much that it's not even an issue anymore

I had a one night stand with a 17 year old, but most of my actual boyfriends have been older than me. I'm 18 btw.
