    I know this is a stupid question, but what are they? which subjects are hard to get a high number of ums points in? do universities find out how many ums points you get?

    i know there have been loads of threads about them, but they're all to complex for my understanding

    UMS stands for uniform mark scale. It is the number that is converted from the raw mark to UMS. A raw mark is the number of questions you got correct. Then it is converted into UMS.

    Unless you apply to Cambridge, who send out a questionnaire asking for all your UMS marks, universities won't know. They just get told your grades from UCAS.
