To study optometry at manchester is says on the entry requirements....

'ABB including Biology and one from Physics, Chemistry or Maths - in 1 sitting'

What does the 1 sitting part mean? Do I have to take all the modues/section exams at the same time? Or is it that I cant re-sit anything???

i think it means u have to get ABB first time so if you fail to get ABB first time and retake then get the grades required they won't let u in

ah ok - thanx for clearing that up for me. Luckily manchester is the only uni that has that as a specific entry requirement.

It also means you can't retake any individual modules (or shouldn't anyway)

Yeah, they mean you have to do A Levels in two years.

yes, but module resists must surely be aloud. I think it just means you can't do a third year.

There no way they can know if you did any resits anyway, it doesn't say on the certificate when the modules were done. just the date it was awarded as a whole a-level. What they want is all 3 subjects to be awarded the same sitting.

not at the same time you can still do AS's in year 1 and A2's in year 2...some places do say no resits though for modules, I've heard it happen for medicine courses. Maybe you should call admissions and ask them to be sure

no u cant resit individual modules. it means u cant resit ANYTHING. the grades u gain first time round are the ones u have to apply with. even if u do resit for ur other unis.

This is confusing. I'd phone/email them and ask whether they mean you can't do any resits full stop or whether they just mean you can't do your A-levels over 3 years. I think it means you can resit individual modules, but not a whole year. I'm not sure though.

Pretty sure its the above. They just don't want students who are retaking a year e.g doing A levels in 3 years.
