The Student Room Group

Any Restaurant Group employees? (Frankie & Benny's, Garfunkels etc...)

Hi guys,

Is there anyone here who works for the Restaurant Group Plc? Frankie & Benny's, Garfunkels, Chiquito, Bluebeckers, Brunning & Price, Edwinns, Trg concessions, The Filling Station...? Or knows anyone that does?

I'm asking because we need to hear from those that do! There have been reports of huge exploitation of employees, simply to save the company, maybe £10million ever year.

Please check out the website - www.haveyoulosthours.com or let anyone who you know works for them know, as we are currently building a case against them.

Thanks.

Avoid them like the plague.

Their management style is aggressive; they treat their staff like the
proverbial; a sign on the wall in the staff room, from the manager said, “...you
know where the door is!”

If you had a set shift, say 3:00 to 9:00,
you were told to ‘clock off’ at 9:00 and then get on with your work...If you
said you were going to leave because you were not being paid, you were told not
to come back.

After 6 months, I was the longest serving
member of the kitchen staff...all the English staff were replaced by Poles. I
suspect, though cannot prove, that the head (Polish) chef was
taking a proportion of the other chef’s wages as a ‘reward’ for employing
them. (I saw money changing hands, and one chef told me that he owed the
head chef money and might loose his job if he couldn’t
pay).

When I left, I was underpaid by 6
hours but was told by the manager that, it was not her problem, and to try to
prove that I had worked the hours...she signed you in and
out.

Another member of staff claimed to have
been underpaid by 50 hours when he left.
