    Whats applied Maths?


    Hello,

    My college offers two types of maths courses Pure and statistic AND PURE and Applied. I don't know whats applied maths, can anyone please explain to me before i make my choice.

    in applied maths you do mechanics module(s). I think.

    To make up the maths a-level you do 6 modules, 3 in first year and 3 in second.

    The pure is called core, there are four of these.

    So in your first year you will do c1, c2 and a "applied unit" which i think is mechanics. There is also statisics or decision maths.

    thanks for your help. Is statistics or Decision maths also part of APPLIED MATHS please clerify.

    yes, thats the point i'm not 100% on. Need someone else to confirm it.

    When i get my math a-level it'll say "Applied Maths". If i'd done the decision module instead of statistics i still think it would say applied maths. But if you just do statistics with it i'm really not sure. Sorry.

    Any maths that isn't a core module, is applied.
