Are you afraid of flying?

Well, I love to travel and that we have excellent technology that allow us to use airplanes and so forth. I must admit that I’m really afraid of flying, when I’m in the airport. I’m so convinced that I am going to die due to a take-off crash, etc., though I know it’s statistically very unlikely.
It’s very weird because I’ve flown a lot, but don’t know why I can’t get used to the thought of sitting 10.000 m above ground?

Do you feel the same way once in a while, have any tips, etc. then please post!

I don't suffer from this at all - conversely, I love flying. My friend hates flying and is petrified of it, but she managed to overcome her fears and flew out to America on Saturday, I think she just mentally convinced herself it would be ok, went for some hynotherapy and other such stuff. Also, she took some pills her GP prescribed, something relax her a lot just incase she needs them.
nope i love it, but im scared of heights but i love looking out the window lol im werid

is your friend hermofrodite?lol
Just remember that all over the world, a large amount of planes take off per hour, which makes it less likely that your plane shall crash, as plane crashes are rare, and planes travel very frequently.

I think many people feel uneasy when entering a plane, but i suppose in the end you'll just have to endure the hardship to reach your paradise.

I think that an early flight makes the trip much better. There's something about a closed McDonalds restaurant which makes me feel as though i've acheived something.

Have a good flight

No! Lol!! I was actually talking about my friends mum, - my friend is male but I thought it would just be easier to put "friend" instead of "my friends mum" lol!!! That explains the mistake!

flyings great fun! only had 1 return journey in a commercial jet, but the 2-seaters (Mmm aerobatics!!) and gliders are great! Turbulence makes it all the more so, have fun!

Btw, I know this might sound weird, I’m not afraid when flying on business or first class (it’s not very noisy, you get some very delicious food and have access to all sorts of entertainment, etc. => making you think of anything else than the possibility of dying).

I'm not scared of flying. Think about the physics of it. Planes can't just fall outta the sky. Turbulence is fun. Plane's wings are flexible. I'm one of those people who likes to scare other people

and if the plane does crash then rest assured - theres a life jacked under ur seat!

I'm not afraid of flying, just afraid of plummeting thousands of feet to my death. I'm really scared of heights but still insist on a window seat. Turbulence is torture.
I would love to fly. A figher jet would be bloody marvelous.

I dont mind flying. Once you have taken off and are in coach you just listen to music until you land...no problems :p:

9 hour flights are boring, when i flew to Florida i was so bored i ended up watching 8 mile and Lilo and Stitch twice. Flying to Germany was better

Just remember that you're more likely to be involved in a car crash rather than a plane crash. Plane crashes are statistically very rare.

I'm not scared of flying. I used to be really worried about the plane crashing and stuff but I guess I just stopped thinking about that after flying so many times! Now every time I fly I just concentrate on the movies they show us!

I am TERRIFIED of flying but refuse to let it stop me from travelling. I have to talk my way onto the plane and if its a long flight I have tranquilisers but if its a short flight (3 hours or less) then I take as many relaxing herbal remedies and alcohol as I can get down my throat.

Get many a strange look as I wobble towards the plane talking to myself!

getting into a car is more dangerous
