I know people say a 3rd is bad, but to be fair you've still taken the time learning a subject that you don't like, and you should be pleased that you can do that Well done!

It's good that you've found another degree subject you like, I'm sure that you will do fantastic in a subjec that you are happier in, Good Luck!
but I love maths, I adore it, it's just really really hard =P

Hey everyone! I found out today that I passed my 2nd year Uni exams and got a 2.1 so I'm soooo happy!!!

Has anyone else found out they passed their? If you have, WELL DONE!

How did you do/subject? Yay! We should all be happy!
I got the equivalent of a first (but medicine is a pass/fail subject - so no 'classifications') in my end of 1st year exams. I got a 'merit' which does go on my degree transcript, because I got above 70% in all exams, coursework etc

    Still can't quite believe it

Well done to everyone who passed. I too passed my second year with a 2:1. Quite an improvement from the first year. I guess I was too busy socialising to work.

It's quite scary thinking that I'm going to be in my final year in October. Not to mention approaching 21 years of age. Yikes, I'm so grown up!

Yay! You got a 2.1 too! What subject? You did great! I know how you feel about how scary it is going into the final year! Dissertation thoughts terrify me! I'm not thinking about age, I was 20 when I started Uni so now I'm 21 years *cough* and 56 weeks *cough*

I got a 2.1 average for my first year, but I was extremely lazy. With effort, I could actually get a first quite easily.

In medicine (outside OxBridge) you either pass or fail. The old 'joke' goes: 'Q. What do you call someone who only just scrapes a pass in their med finals? A. Doctor'.

Where I'm at medical school, if you get a 1st in everything in any one year you get a merit for that year. If you get a first in everything in years 1 and 2 you get a University of London Pre-Clinical Distinction - so I'm planning on working my ass off next year! Merits only go on your degree transcript, where as UoL distinctions go on your degree certificate.

NB with Oxbridge, your "classification" is actually for your third year Part II, which is NOT a compulsory part of the medicine course - you pick whatever you like. Your IA and IB are classified and used for your admission to clinical school, but not in your final BA degree. It's silly, but it's Cambridge

do you think Oxford do a similar thing with their First BM distinctions? random Q i can't really ask anyone without sounding a tad silly..

& i would assume our 3rd year BAs are an entirely different certificate altogether? one i could hide..? :p:
