Looks like it's going to be the biggest year yet, since there's no Glastonbury. I mean, just read this: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/050712c.shtml
    Better get in there quickly.

If the lineup's any good, i think it'll be TITP for me next year...

doubt it'll be a patch on Glastonbury, but still!

I definitely recommend TITP. Great location, great crowds, great line-ups, loads of choice of bands - it's all good. I missed this years to see REM in London, and it got postponed, so I ended up with neither

i'd heard quite a few bad things about the TITP crowd...Has a reputation of being quite a hard drinking festival, with alot of drunken tw*ts

one thing i really liked about Glastonbury was that I saw next to no drunken idiots, and the very few i did see were nothing too bad at all...which makes a very nice change.

There's a lot of drinking, but I had no problems with anyone at all last year, and I was sober all the way through. The crowd are generally quite friendly, although you do get a few of the local scallies it must be said. Like you say, I doubt it'll be as good as Glastonbury. I'll probably go abroad again for a festival next year. Going to Benicassim this year, I fancy something like Roskilde possibly next year, or even back to Benicassim.

Benicassim sounds really good too, and is another possibility to fill the Glasto shaped hole next year...just not too sure how i'd be able to cope with sleeping during the day in the blazing heat because I understand that the music starts in the evening and goes on till about 5/6 right?

    i'm such a wuss

Yeah, apparently so. I'm there on my interrailing trip, so when I get back I'll let you know what it's like. They've got the Cure, Nick Cave, Oasis and the Lemonheads this year, amongst others. Woo! The daughter of one of my mum's friends has been, and apparently it's much more relaxed and well organised than the majority of british festivals, so will be much more akin to Glasto in that respect.

Also you could try Oxegen - near as dammit the same line up as T, but in Dublin, and I don't think it sells out as quickly.

The worst drunks I found at glastonbury were ones giving out free hugs

I'll proberly find myself at Reading next year at least. Seeing as I will have a house in Reading then. maybe V festival as well. all dependant onn the lineups and the financial situation of course
