I notice there's a number of posts in this forum requesting help and assistance with CV writing. Some of you might be interested to learn of a website we began developing some 2 years ago enabling you to download software to help you write your CV (and cover letter). This is genuinely free with no strings attached - the reason being that we're using it to get feedback from users on their experience with the application.

If you're interested go to http://www.cvworks.com

It's been used by hundreds of students so far with generally positive feedback, but any comments (good or bad) would be gratefully received.

I hope this proves useful, particularly as many people are currently job-hunting with little or no previous experience of CV writing. I know we're not suppose to advertise in these forums so this should be taken as a public service announcement :-) (afterall, we make no money from this site).

www.reed.co.uk also has a tool like this which is very useful, need to sign up first though
