What is it?? Does it take up the same amount of hours as an AS or what?? At the college i've applied to it says Business (Applied GCE) AS. Could i take this alongside other AS's as usual or does it take up loads like an AVCE? Or is it the same thing as an AVCE??

As far as I know, applied GCEs are the new name for AVCEs.

i read somewhere that it can be a 3, 6, 9 or 12 unit award though so does that mean you can do it as a single AS??

Yep, an AS is 3 units, a full A-level is 6 and a double award A-level is 12. 9 would be the equivalent of 1 full A-level and 1 AS, but that one's new to me

Applied GCE's are a new name for AVCEs. They changed the name so it will bring in line with other GCE non-vocational A-levels. It still has the same structure (6 or 12 units, single or double award). The units in the courses might change too. I know the Applied GCE ICT has changed some of it's units and course content.
