Sometimes I turn on TV, and wonder if capitalism is really the way when I see nothing but ringtone adverts. But nothing depresses me more than recruitment agencies, I've spent yet another day desparately trying to get registered, out of the 20 I phoned today, 19 didn't accept students, whilst one offered me a nightshift in a factory, it's inaccessible without a car, trains don't run at the shift times.

Whatever you do DONT do warehosue work its like a modern day sweatshop, at the mo im at dts logistics doing the next sale basically unpakcing boxes, tagging them, pricing then packing again to be shipped to the stores and we were in "teams", you get sacked if you sit down at all, appear to be not doing any work, have a mobile phone you (they do random searches so far ive been searched 6 times this week and thats nothing comapred to some unfortunate people !) today they said they were overstaffed so they went around and looked for people to sack and got rid of 20 by just searching there pockets or giving a drug tests (compulsory under the contract we had to sign), it was 36-38 degrees on the shop floor all week with 4 fans for 13 stations............

Be careful of sneeky pay deals aswell, in the job centre it said 6 ppund p/h but whenwe got there we found out it was 5, plus 50p attendance bouns per hour if your not late or miss work once in the entire month and 50p p/h productivity bonus if you reach your target which has been set at 50 boxes per hour and considering the most a team has done in a hour is 26 so far in 2 weeks, looks like pretty much no-one will get the bonus.

If you have a half-respectable CV write to people you'd like to work for asking if they have any work. It won't do any harm and it might just pay off.

I really annoys me that I can't get a job. I see morons with jobs everywhere. Everytime I phone up a call centre I get to talk to someone who speaks incomprehensibly and regardless of the fact I could do those sorts of jobs 1000 times better than some of the apes that do them, they still won't employ me.

that's because you're "overqualified". pretend you have two Cs and a D at GCSE and watch the offers fly in.
