Or in the whole country...

I'm not anti-tobacco as such, I just think that smokers smell (woo aren't I perceptive) and most that I have met aren't very good at stimulating conversation.

hmmm, thats an interesting theory.

Other people say smokers are more fun...

I think its all ********, whether you smoke or not has little to do with how interesting/fun you are.

No, the actual act of smoking doesn't affect your funn-ness (unless you count the health effects) but people who start smoking are ususally the more impulsive (so perhaps more fun) but also more sheep-like (boring go with the crowd types).

American Spirits.

Man, how can you people smoke Big Tobacco products? Those companies are lousy. Very bad. Plus, they stuff their tobacco with God knows what chemicals---400 of them or something, but arsenic & ammonia make the list. They add ammonia because it's toxic, thus it drains your energy & makes you crave the stimulant properties of nicotine. Thus you become more deeply addicted to a more dangerous cigarette.

Okay---rant over.

ironic seeing a smoker such as yourself complaining about the chemical content of said product.

gg, just out of interest; why do you smoke? You're 16 and openly admit to smoking, that's fine... But, I just wonder what your reasons are for smoking? Peer pressure? Curiosity leading to addiction? "Social fashion"? Want to die early? Seriously, I wonder what young peoples' reasons are for smoking. I know most of it is down to peer pressure, which is a shame because the 'friends' who got you addicted to nicotine won't be by your bedside 30 years down the line when you're admitted to hospital with lung cancer.

What was so controversial about my post which induced this? I'm simply wondering why people smoke at such a young age. I didn't mean to be offensive - just inquisitive. Sorry if I've upset anyone.

I don't understand you. Are you saying that you get a "buzz" from smoking? That's interesting because 90% of smokers surveyed admitted to feeling unpleasent when smoking. They of course, only smoke to satisfy their addiction - so from that sense it may seem to have a "good effect". Smoking is disgusting, and I am sure that in 30-50 years, smoking will be a much more frowned upon subject and I believe smoking will be a rareity.

its not stupid at all. some people assume that people who smoke are either addicted or smoke to 'fit in', and of course in some cases that is the case. Its like alcohol or drugs though, some people are dependant on it, but if you're not it doesnt mean that you cant enjoy it from time to time.

1) Why is 'angry' in speech marks? Are you quoting me, or have you not heard the word before?
2) Oh you won't bother debating with me. How terrible...
3) Although im not a heavy smoker myself, it annoys me when people attack any smoking so incessantly.
- you really think drinking alcohol is healthy?
- that eating junk food regularly is any better?

i just think, considering this is 'chat' (note correct use of speech marks) that you should refrain from this sort of thing.
In D&D, or perhaps GD, it might be more acceptable.

Angry is in speech marks because I was not sure if it was the correct word to use. You seem to be very touchy towards this subject, and like I said before, I didn't mean to cause offence. I don't want to debate with you because it's half-past three in the morning, I'm about to get some kip, this is a debate which needs coherent reasoning - something which I cannot exercise at the moment. The debate on junk food, alcohol and smoking is also strenuous and I do not have the energy to plan a pointful argument.
