Worried [pill change and pregnancy]

Basically two months ago i changed from microgynon to a progeserone only pill (cerazette), i had a period that frst month but havnt had one last month or his month. One of the side effects of the pill is no periods at all. last month i didnt have a proper period but just spotted a bit. This month no bleeding what so ever but have had slight period pains. I have also lost about half a stone since i started this pill. I;m really worried about being preganat, and i really dont know what to do. any help would be appreciated.

if you're really worried that you're pregnant, then take a pregnancy test. It will put your mind at ease either way: if you are, then cross that bridge when you come to it. I'd take it as soon as possible though, because tis too much of a major issue to have hanging over you!

Whatever happens though, I'd take yourself off the pill you're currently on. Although you say one of the side effects is no periods at all, losing half a stone isnt exactly good for you! Was there a particular reason that you switched in the first place, such as a medical reason? If there was, go to your doctor, and ask their advice.

...Any other problems?

Take a test perhaps and if it does stop periods than hopefully (if that's what you want) that is just it.

I have heard that sometimes they do not starta gaina nd then it can be near impossible for you to become pregnant at all. Which is good in a way but bad in others for obvious reasons.

Have you been doing anything different since starting the new pills? Possibly its just a hormonal thing and maybe nothing to worry about.

Talk to your doctor or the clinic you got it from. Cerazette uses the same hormones as the contraceptive implant, and when I got my implant I had exactly what you are describing. I was really worried I might be pregnant as well, but it sorted itself out as my body got used to it.

You'll probably find it's just your body adapting to the new hormone levels and it will sort itself out. Go back to the doctor, if you can't wait for that do a pregnancy test, although I'm not sure if it will work when you are on the pill, you might get a false positive. I know how you must feel but you have to remember it can take a few months to get used to a new pill.

I Changed pills becuase i was getting severe migranes on the microgynon. its really odd cause i'm sitting here writing this and i've got period pains; yet no period. i thought missing last months period was due to exam stress and whatnot. to the weight i've gone from 11 to nine and a half in less than a year. and the last half a stone was in the last month. the only thing thats different since i started the new pill is a new job! aaaargh.

Any stress from the new job?
Maybe some of it could be general stress with exams and what not - a coincidence. As suggested do take a test and then you will know for sure and hopefully feel better about it. As to the weight, wow thats quite a bit but maybe it is hormonal and doesn't that sometimes happen with pills etc

being on the pill will not give you a false positive in a pregnancy test - the hormone the test detects is only produced if you are actually pregnant.

False positives are so, so rare. False negatives are more common.

Its fine for some people but doesn't agree with me. i geta doctor that finally agrees that theres just no point me being on it then see another and they try and get me back on it.

The first one I had cramps and clotting
Second High blood pressure and put on 2 stone
Third constant bleeding
fouth constant bleeding and hairloss
this one more hairloss and put on loads of weight

I'm never going on it again now.

Don't be put off. The pill (according to my Doc) doesn't cause you to actually gain weight, just increases your appetite. So, I basically just watch my portions (though the urge to snack has increased) but you don't have to go hungry to stop the weight. During my exams I intentionally managed to put on about half a stone, but it was easy to stop it increasing. (Maybe I am just lucky though?)

Pill isn't so bad. It's nice knowing exactly when your period is going to start.

I am never going on it. Period.

There are other methods of contraception, I'm amazed so many people are into popping 'the pill', it's not even *that* easy to remember to always take. I guess some people are at it like rabbits though

But increasing your appetite is a sure-fire way to gain weight  And I can already make a pretty good guess when my periods will start, yet like not being 100% sure

I agree there, although I guess not all females are regular...

No, because as long as you are aware that it could do this, you can also be aware of what you are eating. Right?

If you eat when you're hungry, like me. The pill would make you put on weight.

well i prefer to use the ( postinor 2), the one that you take after sex and so far the only side effects is that your periods are late by two theree days....but so far so good.
wish you all the best and i pray that you are not pregnant.

I just said, SO YOU WATCH WHAT YOU EAT. If you are aware of something, it is very easy to do something about. Sure, it takes a bit of self control, but that is a good thing to learn.

And who wants to constantly watch what they eat? Rather you than me.
