    The only difficult bit will be getting your reference written, but as long as you can find someone to agree to do it you could send that off later if necessary. Your personal statement will take a while, but the other stuff can be done easily.

    The deadline has been extended due to weather conditions resulting in closed schools.

    Just thought it was worth mentioning, that should you need it the OU will give you an academic reference (which is what unis generally prefer as opposed to ones from employers etc), and they're very quick to get back to you (I got mine the next day). You just have to email your area/regional director and request it in writing with details of what you're applying for.

    I know someone else who wasn't happy with theirs from the OU though, because they thought it was a bit basic (which they are) but it obviously hasn't had any sort of negative impact on my application so how much that matters I don't know.

    Ah OK, that's a good idea. In that case, there's just about time to make a decent application, as long as whoever writes your reference gets on with it.
