Why? What if a man just wants to have sex?

For a price he can skip all of the ******** which goes with courting a woman etc.. Even a one night stand takes a bit of effort. In this case the guy can go straight for the sex. He is paying purely for the satisfaction nothing else. What exactly is desperate about that?

It's easier and more convenient to pay a prostitute. So that line of argument fails immediately. There are also no strings at all. The same can not be said for the drunk girl you pick up in a club.

You are talking about the basis or potential for a relationship, which betrays a certain naivety in you knowledge of how men feel about sex. Most men like sex full stop. You alluded above to pulling a girl in a club. Most men will do this because they want sex. Not because they want a chat, or a spark, or chemistry. They do it because they want the staisfaction which comes with penetration.

I agree, which is why it must be made legal, safe and regulated.

    ...
some men simply get a kick out of it too

ive heard of plenty of celebrities who would obviously have no trouble finding one night stands hiring prossies

I think you vastly underestimate the amount of girls who also just want no-strings sex.... (Not that I'm one, I'm in a LDR, but still, it's a bit oldfashioned surely to imagine that all girls want is relationships (even drunken ones in nightclubs) or some sort of strings attached?

Oh of course i am aware that alot of girls are after sex aswell. But i think the general mindset and attitude to sex is very different. The consensus is that most men would **** anything. Judging by every male i have met. I would say it is true for the majority of them.

There's no certainty of no strings, especially when a girls drunk in a nightclub. She could get a severe case of morning after syndrome. With a prozzie she won't get pregnant, she won't get attached, and she'll be a great lay. You can count on getting a prozzie consistently every night for the same price. The same cannot be said for clubs and girls.

A great lay yes if you go with an escort, but I doubt sex with some skanky streetwalker would be very good...

Jesus, what kind of men do you know? I would think the majority of guys I know wouldn't pay for sex.

Anyway, I'm for the legalisation and regulation of prostitution, but I feel nothing but disgust for anyone who would go to a prostitute. It reveals a lot about their attitude towards sex and women.

hm on the one hand prostitution is just another way of making money, and it beats rape....

but any kind of pecuniary exchange where sex is involved means the relationship is essentially an unequal one (prostitute-client business relationship, not "relationship" relationship) ...and where the person paying is physically stronger than the prostitute putting him in power over her can be very bad- say he pays for oral but takes more than he paid for? And presumably the only way round that is having a big strong pimp watching the whole time- but having an agent to sell your body for you in exchange for protection is just a grotesque, it makes a person a commodity even more. Apparently most violence against prostitutes happens when the bloke can't get it up and blames her for it which is sad :'(

hm i have only known 2 men who have been to a prostitute and i can't say for sure whther that means they don't value women, i think these things can happen out of desperation/alcohol. And from what i hear its not really worth it anyway. Interestingly one of these was an ex boyfriend who turned out to be gay...

Well I don't like it, have it my way it would be legal though.

I just don't like the idea of renting out a girl, reeks of desperation to me anyway. Plus I would feel sorry for the girl frankly, especially some African in Italy. Call me old-fashioned or whatever but I don't have the heart to pay for sex illegally, particularly in a backstreet brothel - who knows the lifestory of the girls involved, they need help. Nor would I wish to do it legally, I would rather not have sex than have to pay for my action - it would make me feel sad.
    This.

OP, you and your mates are ******* disgusting, you fugly caunts

looking for a lads holiday, with the obvious intention of visiting hookers for a few nights, but want to stay away from hot spots like Amsterdam.
I'm not sure what it is exactly but it is the capital city of Holland I'm thinking of that's pretty good for the red-light district. I think it begins with 'Am' -something.

What a stupid thing to say. I personally would never use a prostitute, but that's just me. Prostitution has been in existence for hundreds of years. In Venice at one stage for example, it was promoted and even funded by the state. Prostitutes (the successful ones) could be considered part of the social elite.

If both parties are consentual, there isn't really anything wrong with it. Not a whole lot worse than having a one night stand with some drunk person you met in a night club. Of course, things like forced prostitution and pimping are completely immoral and disgusting but prostitution it's self is 'the oldest profession' and frankly there's nothing at all wrong with. People are just letting society make them think there is.
I actually edited my post because i thought what i said was a bit too harsh and hence just wrote that and went.

Society making me think it is? Judging from this topic that i read earlier, most people felt it was fine. I stand firm against prostitution because of the fact most people do it to fund drug habbits. The ones i know have no self esteem and think the only thing they are actually skilled at is sex, so they do that to pay the bills. It's degrading and the ones i know have severe issues ranging from leaving home at 13 because of abuse, to drug addictions.

And funding that, in my opinion is disgusting. I don't care how long it's been going for...because Racism was allowed for hundreds of years(although fine it's not allowed now) are you going to start being racist too?

Many things in history were allowed over hundreds of years and CHANGED....i mean prostitution is illegal now in a lot of countries and this signifies that.

Sorry, but that's my opinion. Most prostitutes are abused weekly by arrogant clients thinking they 'own them' because they paid...so don't you go telling me there's nothing wrong with it.

Yes, it's also wrong to have sex with a severely drunken person. But at least their not doing it for a living.

That won't stop all the individual problems that comes with it and many that i listed. It's never regulated as much as it should be, the only law that's ever really enforced is mandatory health checks.

    Retard.

You would be surprised. I used to work abroad alot with a group of guys, the majority of whom had partners and kids. Sooner or later they would all cheat, with other women or prostitutes etc.. Alot of people came and went and those who would not pay for sex or cheat on their partners were in the minority.

It reveals a lot about their attitude towards sex

Yes it does. They like sex, so they pay for it. Sex isn't something sacred and holy. Although it may be to you. To most people it is something fun, enjoyable and satisfying. To say it degrades women in allot of cases actually degrades women. You are saying that those women who choose to sell sex are only doing so because they are opressed and stood upon. God forbid there are strong independent women in the world who know exactly what they are doing and take advantage of their bodies and looks to make lots of money.
