i hate you because you used the word abhorrance and i dont know what that means
Beware, Mr "I'm more intelligent than you" will crush you cause you spelled "abhorrance" wrong

You seem alright I suppose. You may be a little condescending (just a suggestion, not an attempt to judge you), but even condescending people aren't always 'hated' as such.

I am just surprised as someone who claims to be clever you only take academic intelligence to be the point where you think that someone is worth talking to. I have plenty of friends with degrees from fantastic uni's and A* results coming out of their ears but ask them to navigate a map, boil an egg or even organise a night out and they just can't. Point of this post; if you are real you have a lot to learn. If you are fake, you need to go outside and find something more interesting to do rather then troll internet forums. I suggest experimenting with drugs.

There is something about me that immediately provokes abhorrence. Almost everybody I meet hates me, even people I don't know on the internet take an almost immediate dislike to me. I do come across as quite arrogant sometimes. But my heart is in the right place, why do people not see that?
I don't blame them when you create threads like this
    http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show...php?p=23212488

and then reply to people in the mannor that you did.

Chucklefiend, after reading all five pages of your previous thread, I have lost the minute bit of respect that I had left for you. I still stand by what I said, however I would like to remove the last line of my previous post.
Charming. You appear to consider yourself somewhat benevolent, simply because you socialise with people, of a lower class than yourself, so I don't really think you are entitled to judge me.

maybe you've got to a point where you feel that people will definately hate you and as a result, perhaps you come across as a bit standoffish due to how YOU feel and then this reflects how THEY respond to you.

Based on the fact that you're probably still in a small 6th form or college situation, perhaps you just need to meet new people (which you will at uni)

so chin up and don't worry, I'm very sure that people don't hate you

May I ask why you did not type your initial thread in Latin or perhaps with a subject you enjoy discussing, such as String Theory, if you wished to seek solace with fellow minded academics?

This may seem like a facetious question, but think about it. The inclusion of pre-requisites only suceeded in alienating not only those you consider beneath you in intellect (possibly in general too?) but those who met your pre-requisites but had higher emotional and social intelligence than yourself.

Only reason I'm not reducing myself to juvenile insults is because I once watched Wife Swap, where there was an extremely intelligent guy on there, but he was naturally dismissive and condencending of those not on his intellectual level. It took a date with a girl (and a subsequent rejection, due to his natural reaction towards the less intelligent) for him to realise the error of his ways. I see you have similar characteristics. This thread actually mirrors his disapointment and confusion as to why she didn't like him.

I'm not saying you should start conversations with people who read The Sun or watch Big Brother/X-Factor just to be nice, but if you really don't want the hostile responses, don't mention the people you don't want to talk to. Just address the ones you do with a subject you enjoy.

Too Long; Didn't Read: Treat people the way you wish to be treated.

You're clearly a troll, but even so, well done for not picking any insurance choice on UCAS. It would have been even better if you'd applied to Oxford only, but I can't blame you for being careful.
I have completed my A levels and I am currently on a gap year. My offer is unconditional, so I am not able to put an insurance choice.

I'm very much the same, except my heart is not in the right place. I like the way I am though, as long as you're content with who you are...who really cares about what others think?

Everyone hates me too, just look at my rep! It's probably because on here I often go on the controversial side when I probably shouldn't

The people on here seem very quick to judge and frankly quite aggressive and spiteful.

I don't hate you. Judging from your previous thread you could do with being a bit more tactful and a little less elitist? I think there is more to a person than a string of high academic grades. You're also from Reading I see, that's cool.

i just HAD to reply once i saw this thread. frankly i find it really hard to believe that such inept individuals with such low EQs actually exist! i mean, ive met my fair share of social retards but this just takes the cake!

you cant detect sarcasm, think that only "intelligent" people (of course by your own arbitrary and really NAIVE and ironically, incredibly STUPID methodology) deserve to talk to you, cant even detect an insult from advice..the list goes on.

im not trying to be mean but youre probably never going to have a friend if you continue like this. just stating the facts. PLEASE tell me youre not doing law because i really dont want to have ANY CHANCE of working with you EVER.

advice? GET OUT MORE. talk to people, EMPATHIZE. seems like youre living in your own fantasy world where you believe academia is everything. i know MANY smart people who have as good or ever BETTER grades than you from my school (yes, youre not the smartest in the world, sorry to burst your bubble) who are much more modest than you and have very likable personalities. they have gotten into oxford, cambridge, harvard, yale etc top schools and they NEVER brag about it. i only found out through second parties. seriously, looking at your replies on this forum, you seem absolutely oblivious to what people are REALLY saying and you just take everything at face value.

good luck to you. if i were your parents, i would make sure you stay an academic your whole life because i doubt youd last a second in the real world.
