Are coaching classes necessary for the GMAT? I'm aiming for a score of atleast 650. What is the preparation time required for the GMAT?

You don't need classes unless you get all the offical GMAT guide books and spend a lot of time preparing. Three months of regular 2-3 hours per day work is necessary. This of course depends on how well you are familiar with concepts of the GMAT. May take you less or perhaps more time. Its such a drag in any case and it is really a necessary evil. Never understood the point of it.
