    Unless you're at LSE, you will get the chance to resit the two modules you failed, but these will be capped at 40%
    Your other semester grades will be able to pull your average up to pass at least, and your first year will count for little if anything.

    As FireDeuce said.
    The first year just determines your entry into the second year and doesn't count towards your final degree. If you're worried about failing some modules this year why not talk to your tutor and let them know the situation. Many students didn't get their money through at the right time last semester and getting swine flu is hardly your fault.

    If you feel you could do better, why don't you defer your place, and start again next year? Just explain that you've been ill and have missed a lot, so you would feel better with yourself if you began again next september. Normally they'll let you do that (well depending on your course)
