It's all in the title really, I found it outside Highgate Wood School in
North London if anyone knows anyone who has lost one.

    So what should I do?

Yeh, my uncle said he lost his MP3 player. If you found it on the floor outside a school in the Northern part of London, then it's his. You better send it to me and I'll give return it to him.

finders keepers, dont understand people who go and give stuff like that to the police. handing in a wallet to the police, fair enough, but anything else, are you mad?

I'm not sure it's from the school, as it was actually in a nearby field, but the type of music certianly doesn't seem like that of a dog walker (not that I'm sterotyping)

I don't want to give it to the police, because chances are they will just keep it...and I'm too busy at the moment to go to the police station and answer loads of questions. But i guess I could go at the weekend.

Take it to the school, who will ask around and if no picks it up, will probably give it to the police.

It's only an Ipod, if it was a phone/wallet or something I would give it in to the police (but then if it was a phone, I would wait for someone to ring it and if it was a wallet there might be a card or something in there).

I might try the headmaster, that seems a good idea. Any also, if anyone thinks it belongs to them message me with details (type/music on it etc)

    Do it my way.

Put fliers around the area and the surrounding streets that you found an Ipod. Stick then on lamp posts, trees or whatever you can find. Then put your email contact information asking for anyone who lost it to come forward. But then everyone would say it so here's how to determine the liars. Since every Ipod has an assortment of odd songs, it would be easy to ask the person who lost it to list the songs. The closest match would probably list hundreds of songs. If you return it, you will get over 9000 good points.

Or hand it to the police or school.

Plug it into a computer, look at what it's name is. See if they've stored any files on it (some people use it as a portable hard drive). Check the notes section, check the photos. Might give you some clue whereabouts it came from.

Plug headphones in, turn music on, put head phones into ears, put ipod into pocket, walk.
