I read about this in the metro today, and have several questions.

    1) Where does motor insurer's bureau get its' money from? from taxpayers?

    2) 10.5 million, wtf? thats like 200 k a year for rest of life.

    3) He wasnt even wearing a seatbelt- which led him to losing 20% of the 10.5 mill. Is this suggesting that a seatbelt is only 20% effective?

I feel very sorry for the young lad, but does this not mean everytime this happens again the same amount must be provided, or similar value.
I'm failing to understand how the figure is such a large amount. I could even understand maybe 2 million, but 10.5 million, jeeeeez..
