..for about 5 to 7 days. Need cheaper prices on flights and hotel, everywhere seems to be too expensive. Looking to spend around £250 mark.

Have a look at coaches across and then stay in hostels. Or fly and then hostel. You don't have to go in anything shoddy, there are some pretty decent ones out there!

    How many people are going?

We spent around £300 (not 100% sure, sorry) for accomodation for about 4/5 days, excellent spot, it was 2 rooms, sleeps four people, kitchen etc. It was more like an apartment.

Night clubs behind the hotel/apartment, red light district infront, coffee shops all around

To be honest, even though a lot of money isn't really required, I would save up more, you will enjoy it a lot more. You don't have to spend it all, but it gives you some security, as I never leave home without a bit of extra cash.. just incase. Its unlikely that anything goes wrong, but i'd rather be safe than sorry.

I'd recommend cheap airlines, but I don't recommend sleeping in a hostel, I personally never tried it but haven't heard the best of things about them...

I wouldn't stay in hostels, maybe it just me. But I don't trust them places. Especially with my belongings and stuff.

I just went thru my emails, found the booking confirmation for the hotel + flight.

Flight was £60.98 return, inc. all charges, taxes and 1 piece of hand luggage (more than enough). But obviously these change like the wind.

Hotel was 1 x Quad room, 210euros, I dont have an official email for this, just what my friend messaged me and I don't remember the hotel name. It was near the Amstel River, opposite the Europa Hotel.

Another method could be ferry. (Hull to Rotterdam)

It depends on the quantity of women/pot you intend to have really. I blew about £2000 in seven days.

Sure, they get bad rep in things like movies but there are a lot of good ones out there. Plus, I don't know about you but when I got to Amsterdam I don't plan on spending much time in the hostel apart from sleeping!

I actually spent quite a bit myself aswell, but my mate didn't and he loved it too.

But yeah like you said, really depends on the amount of pot and how many women you wanna shag.

Shouldn't be hard hitch hiking there. Haven't tried it (want to when I have some time). From what I've read though, here to Dover isn't hard, you should be able to get a bus or train cheap. Then get a ferry to Calais (every car ticket can take 9 people, so if you meet someone paying for a car, you can ask them). Outside the docks there are large lorry parks that can take you to Amsterdam.

    I have to ditto this.

Combined Train & Boat tickets from London (or any National Express East Anglia station) to Amsterdam (or any Dutch station) via the boat between Harwich International (which has it's own train station) and Hoek van Holland (also has a train station).

Can't complain at £29 each way.

Do you know how much it would cost to get high and have a prostitute once a day for 5 days?

Amsterdam was probably the most expensive European city I went to, but it is doable on a budget. We stayed at the Flying Pig Hostel, I can't remember if it was uptown or downtown but it was the one near the train station. It was alright but not one of my favourite hostels, and pretty expensive at £30 a night for a 16 bed room, although I didn't find anywhere with good ratings cheaper.

If I were to go again I'd definitely take more money and more people. Anne Franks museum is a must and we went to both the sex museums, they're much of a muchness but quite funny, don't bother with the torture museum, not very intersting. We were lucky when we went as there was a free festival called Uitmarkt for the three days we were there. It was spread out over about 40 venues, indoor and outdoor, and had all kind of music and dance.. I'd probably say that was the highlight of my time in Amsterdam, that or getting a tour of the red light district by a scottish stag party. So if you're going to go I'd recommend going at the end of August when that festivals on.

You also need to account for more money if you want any weed. I think a space cake costs about 6 euros, and drinks are ridiculously expensive. About 5-6 euros for a vodka and sprite. And I think 3-4 euros for a pint.

A fair bit of pot, but not huge amounts. I slept with 5 escorts, 2 brothel girls, and 14 window girls in a week.

Well, I'll tackle the two seperately:

Pot - You can get this in cafes, a joint or a brownie will set you back about as much as a pot of tea and a scone in an English tea house.

Women - This depends; window girls are quite cheap (about 30 euroes for 15mins is the standard) but the service is strictly timed and it's just straight sex and a bj (both covered). Window girls are very clean, and free of STDs, but I'd feel icky going down on one due to the huge volume of clients they take daily, unlike escorts where you can feel free to chow down if you enjoy eating pussy.

Brothels have a strange set of rules. You pay an entrance fee (anything from 25 to 50 euros) then you find a girl you like and pay a flat rate for her for the time you want (prices vary wildly, but 50-60 euros for half an hour of straight sex and a bj is about right). She'll also have a 'menu' which depending on the establishment may or may not be negotiable (best to ask at the reception); asking for the menu will basically get her to say what else she offers e.g foot fetish, watersports, facesitting, whatever.

Escorts (escorting is completely legal in England aswell, so check out English sites before splashing out on a trip to Amsterdam just for this) are the higher end of prostitution; expect to pay an average of 200 euros for an hour, but it can be more or less. Escorts are great in Amsterdam; you can quite literally get whatever you want for example there is a Polish girl called Anna who quite literally has breasts that are bigger than her head (she's a great girl as well), there's also a Dutch girl called Candy (cliched name, much?) who is 6'5" tall which is awesome if, like me, you have a thing for tall women.

Streetwalkers; blech, don't even go there. Sex is reasonably priced in Amsterdam; no need to catch HIV or Hep from some intro-druggie hooker just to get it cheaper still.

You can get anything you want in Amsterdam; black women, asian women, middle eastern women, red heads, blondes, brunettes, morbidly obese women, anorexically skinny women, dwarfs, midgets, dominatrixes, submissives, women who will do anything if you have the cash . . . you can basically get any girl and anything you want in Amsterdam. Bring lots of money .
