Thats pants, 1 word over the limit at mine and you lose 5%!! 51 words over and you lose 10%! etc...

But seriously OP, 1000 is NOTHING, I have no idea how you don't have enough to fill 1000 words. I usually write like 2000 and have to cut half out!
    that actually sucks!

but i imagine doing the subject you do, you are used to writing essays all the time. i've literally not written one for over 3 years now.

i'm sure if i asked you to write a lab report, you'd be completely stuck

No we write lab reports more than essays actually lol and neither have I, I wrote no essays or reports all the way through college and I thought I would suck when I got to uni, but so far I have very much surprised myself! Averaging a first which I am prrooooouuuudddd of :proud:

Well good luck! If you can't think of anything, waffling is a really easy way to make up words :p:

How the **** can you write a lab report in 1000 words?

    That's not a lab report, that's a memo.

its not a lab report its an essay about a load of social crap.

if it was a lab report i'd have no problem getting to 4 or 5 thousand words

Okay, regardless of whether you're used to writing essays or not it's so short that by the time you get into the swing of it you'll have to end it. Try write a plan- include what you think you have to talk about. Introduce the topic, a few main points, expand on the points, conclude. If you've no idea what points you should be making- do some research- online, your class notes- what are other people in your class doing if truly stuck!

Meanwhile I have to write a 4000 word essay on the plays of Dion Boucicault. Bahhh.
