    Damn. Feel sorry for you bro. Also do as fox said,
    (1) cut a hole in a box
    (2) put your junk in that box.
    (3) Make her open the box.
    And thats the way you do it... etc. etc.

    Why do you want to know what girls (who aren't your girlfriend) want for Valentine's day? You realise that girls aren't a collective entity with one consciousness yes?
    Well he can't exactly go and ask his girlfriend what she wants for Valentine's Day - might ruin the surprise a bit!
    The next best thing is to ask another girl. Or possibly many other girls, for a more balanced overall opinion. That'd be where TSR comes in!

    Just get her something pretty, maybe a necklace with the initial of her name? Or even better, make a big fuss, with flowers and a nice dinner. I'm sure she would appreciate it. But I do think what you write in the card would probably mean more to her than the present ... so make it genuine and show her you care.

    Why don't you make her something? It would be more "special"! Like a paper mache rose or card or something. Also what are your girlfriend's interests?

    Where else?

    The Theatre.

    or a Sonnet.

    Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
    Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
    Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
    And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
    Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
    And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
    And every fair from fair sometime declines,
    By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed.
    But thy eternal summer shall not fade
    Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
    Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade,
    When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
    So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
    So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

    It's really romantic + it's free

    £85 are you kidding?! Valentines day is just a stupid holiday invented by greeting card companies to make everyone feel like crap (thank you "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" for that quote!) it's not the same as xmas or birthday!
    All I want is roses and a card. Something small and cute just to say "I love you" not just another meaningless present.
    But if you really want to go all out... take her to Paris!

    Here is a tip.
    Never buy your girl friend anything of worth (i.e. necklace etc) because all that means is you have to outdo that gift next time otherwise she'll get pissy about you 'not caring as much'. So what you need to do is get/make/buy her something that has a 'deeper' meaning - something which has thought and not a price tag attached to it. That way you don't have to worry about spending all your money on her.
    Listen to him, he is wise!
