    I have exam this afternoon.

    the system is in equlibrium, therefore all forces are balanced.

    resolving vertically: T1 cos30 + T2 cos50= 20 x 9.81

    resolving horizontally: T1 sin30= T2 sin50.

    solve simultaneously to get T1 and T2

    Just one thing kosy, 9.8 should be used.

    You lose 1 mark per question for using 9.81

    ah yes..i agree with you.
    actually, edexcel mechanics use 9.8 and edexcel physics use 9.81...i guess thats where i got confused!

    Oh well it says it on the front of the paper. Hope it went well. Don't think I'll stay up to 4:30am to find out how other people found it...
