# Ocr (not Mei) Core 2 Answers January 2010 watch

I integrated both the forumlas seperatly and subbed in the values.
Took one from the toher.
Managed to get 5.3333....I kept it as a fraction....Just can not remember what it is atm
5.33333.. written as a fraction is 16/3

If its down to 56 I might jsut scrape an A but I guess It cant be that low...Looked at results from other papers. Highest was 60 n lowest was 56. Was a easy paper even though I managed to **** up big time...Probs be 58
3. United forever AS for that question i posted do you think its 3/5 marks to get to that point without solving the quadratic. Seems logical as 1 mark each to find Sn of each summation and then 1 for putting them together to get a quadratic, right ?

I hope so I didnt know how to work it out But id done a few questions like that before....was like **** quadratic forumla but im suree that dont work either
5. Well the quadratic is definitely right soo i think if we got to that point we got 3 marks lol. I'm so stupid I messed up because i didnt do -and a - = + hahaha gutted.
6. whats really annoying is that i know all the formula's but i always lose marks for stupid mistakes...

See the integral I posted earlier. Just gather up the like terms (the constants) first.

Was I not meant to get a remainder when doing long division because I swear to god the first part was X-3 is a factor and the long division was x+3....I got a +10 Remainder

And I did equalty what Viqas I think did
Would I get any marks
And I put x = -2/3 or 2 for the top questions
Would I loose a mark

And for the trapezium rule part two....square rooting the answer is wrong I guess?
Yes x +3 was a factor.

Probably lose one mark for x = -2/3 or 2.

Square rooting is wrong. By the laws of logarithms, you divide the previous answer by 2.

I teach mathematics so no smuggling required.

Well done but don't count your chickens before they are hatched.

N(16 +(2N-1)x3) - 1/2N(16+(N-1)x3)=1256

N(16 + 6N-3) - 1/2N(16 +3N-3) =1256 then multiply by 2 to make life easier

2N(13+6N) - N(13+3N)=2512

12N^2 +26N - 3N^2 +13N =2512

9N^2 + 13N = 2512

How many marks would i get for getting this far and then messing up the quadratic?

Not being rude or anything but arent maths teachers not allowed to see the paper for 24 hours or something or another....Mycollege teachers cant see it till Monday now

There is no such rule but exams officers often don't understand the rules properly so they err on the side of caution.
