I did

2x= \log_3 6 + x \log_3 5
2x-x log_3 5=log_3 6
x(2- log_3 5) = log_3 6
x=log_3 6
--------
(2- log_3 5)
Didnt know what to do from here so i just said therefore

How many marks do you think ill get for this

At least 4 out of 5. If the marker doesn't read it carefully, you might get all 5!

3. from here I moved the xlog 5
to the other side to collect up the x terms.... then did
log6/ log9 - log5

Was rather confused
Would I get anymarks?

4. Wow that sounds good , really happy with the exam
Thanks alot

At least 2 and probably 3.
6. one more question for the trapezium rule question part 2, i square rooted my answer for the (y+2(y1+y2 etc)
is there any marks for this ? i showed that only the y values would be rooted in a table.

No, that is wrong. And the y values wouldn't be "rooted" anyway as a logarithm was applied after the square root.
8. hmm ok only 2 marks so not thats bad,
and also for the binomial question i just did 7C6.2.w^6 which is wrong, any marks for this ?

I teach mathematics so no smuggling required.
Is that not against the rules? But good on you anyway
12. looks like ill be doing this exam a 5th time lol

i can do all the maths, but i make psychological ****-ups each time. usually i over think a question just after half way through terribly, and then start panicking about time. i spend all my time skipping back and forth through questions, thinking about which to answer fully now and which to save for later, rather than actually answering any. it turns into a mess. probably just scraped a C, just like last time.

Quick question - how do you write out those log equations on the forum in that style!?
14. I quoted Mr M and then copy and pasted, ask Mr M he should know.
15. (Original post by Mr M)
How embarrassing for me. -2/3 is correct. I don't know the difference between y and x.
I did what you did first time round - do you think i'd get any marks for it?

TSR has LaTeX installed. It is a mathematics writing system. This shows you how to use it:

Probably 1 mark.

No it isn't.
19. Did anyone think this paper was way different to the past papers before, I think there were questions in there completely unlike the past papers and so does my teacher, why its not bloody fair, am I wrong. I found some parts very difficult, and I think i got a B, 50 out 72 but id been working all holiday and was feeling very confident. WTF Anyone else feel this way?

I have answered every Pure 2/Core 2 question since OCR became OCR and I promise there wasn't anything peculiar or unreasonably challenging on that paper. Sorry.
