Hi guys. I'm having serious doubts about my choices and still have 3 days to change them so I really need help with this. Here are the unis and courses I applied to (all acknowledged):

    LSE - IR
Warwick - Politics with international studies
    Sheffield - Politics and IR
    Exeter - IR
    QMUL - IR

And my grades are 76666 on a scale of 1 (fail) to 7 (excellent). Most unis count these grades as something between AAA and ABB.

Sooo.. I'm REALLY worried that I'm going to get rejected by all my choices except for QMUL. Exeter asks for AAA/AAB and I've heard its very competetive so I've thought about switching it to Birmingham which asks for ABB. Do you think its a good idea?

    Thanks!

    Snap for three choices XD
Exeter have given everyone AAA offers for IR. Don't be fooled by the slash AAB (trust me, I was).
Birmingham gave me ABB. I don't know about the competitiveness, but the department is LOVELY.

Is Exeter one of your top choices? If yes, keep it. If no, swap it.

I have no idea what 76666 means ... I'm guessing you're taking something that is equivalent to A Levels ... I don't know what they equates to though. But I'll do my best.

If you don't think you'll get the grades for Exeter there's not much point in putting it down, but the fact that they have given you an offer shows that they think you have the potential to meet it. You may as well put it as your firm and leave Birmingham as insurance. It makes more sense to put the one with the higher grades as your firm, and you obviously like it more if it's currently your firm, there's no point in putting a uni you like less as your firm unless you really don't think you will meet that grades Exeter are asking for.

It means that I've got a 7 in history, and 6 in english, finnish, swedish and maths. I haven't got any offers yet and the unis can decide themselves what my foreign grades are equivalent to. You didn't read my post did you ?

Not really. I'm more hoping for Warwick and Sheffield (LSE would be lucky..). I like Exeter but I don't want to end up with having only one offer.

Looks like I misread it, sorry. I thought you were trying to decide what out of those should be your firm and insurance and failed to notice Birmingham isn;t even on the list :facepalm2:

I'm thinking about taking a risk and keeping Exeter.. I really prefer it to Birmingham and if all but QMUL give unsuccesfuls then QMUL it is.

    Aaaaaaa I really don't know :eek3:
I'm not a huge fan of Birmingham.. its ok but not great. If I only get offers from Bham and QMUL I might still go to QMUL if I'm crazy. But on the other hand, it seems soooo unlikely that I'll ever get an offer from Exeter so its a waste of space really. But then again, there's always a small chance and I'd be losing it if I switch to bham..

Yeah might see at Sheffield . I would be sooo happy to get a place there..
