I have my computer science interview coming up. I'd like to know if anyone here has already had one recently or even in the past years. If you have then i'd like to know what type of questions were asked.

    Anything heavily mathematical?

Anyone got theirs coming up soon?

    Any tips for the interview?

I heard for physics that interview = offer pretty much, would that be the same case for CS?

    Thanks. :p:

I've also got an interview. Any chance of posting any questions that they may ask?

    Thanks in advance
This is just from what i've gathered could possibly come up:

    -Why UCL?

    -Why london?

-It says on your personal statement that you're interested in "[insert sentence]" tell me what you know about it.

-What are you studying in maths at the moment? Solve this problem. (after you answer).

OMG.Are they definitely gonna ask you a question on mathematic? Though I like maths and am not bad at it, any chance you can answer it on a piece of paper, Im rather doing it on a sheet than sloving and explaning mathematic by a mouth.

AND what if you fail on the question and the rest were fine?

They didn't ask me any mathematical questions in the end. They surprisingly did test my business studies knowledge though, which was random as hell.

I got asked how I'd go about writing a program to find prime numbers between 1-100, and then between 100-200. Got helped out by the interviewer though

Yeah I only received one email that day. Haven't heard anything since then. I'm still waiting on my accommodation offer. I heard that they will be sending out welcome packs or something soon though. Also there's an enrollment timetable on their website.

Thats shock if they ask you things on math, business studies or writing a program.
I know nothing about business studies and writing programs. One last question: what will happen if you fail to these interview questions ?

Well they only ask stuff related your studies and subjects you're currently taking. Since maths is such a vital part of computer science it's the obvious choice for a question. The interview tries to get you to think, I said a few stupid things in it, but the interviewer pointed it out to which I agreed and retracted those statements. I still got my offer. :p:

I loved my UCL interview. On the way to the interview room I asked what he specialised in and it was cloud computing or something like that and we just talked about that for 95% of the interview (which went wayyyy overtime) and then he quickly got to the questions I fluffed my way through them (some door puzzle logic thing) and bang interview done.

You can't really fail it, unless you go in wearing an Imperial College jacket.

My ex didn't know anything about writing programs as well, she got in fine.
