Pretty silly having a salary review inclusive of the Investment Banking sector, while simultaneously excluding bonuses. No one goes into banking for the salary, it is all about the bonus.

wow if students think this is the average salary then you will be disappointed i wouldn't be shocked if the actual salary is halve of what is written down.

I think it says something like the starting salary for an M&A analyst in London, straight outta uni, is like 40k minimum, which sounds hugely erroneous. I thought it was somewhere around 30-35k + sign on bonus (size dependent on which bank you're at).

Nope they are right. Haven't heard of any bank that's offering less than 40k base.

Well a lot of banks supposedly pay interns the same rates as new grads, so you mean even interns are on 40k pro rata?

Can't speak for all banks, and I'm not exactly sure that all the banks pay interns the same rates as new grads, but from what I've heard from 2010 interns is that yes, they'll be getting the same base as grads.

Varies bank to bank; I know some are and some aren't.
