I ain't got a clue as to how start these questions! Can someone please start me off?

Well for the second one you can replace with because
4. Try using the double angle formulae to get expressions in sinx and cosx.

cos(2x + x) = ...
sin(x + x) = ...
5. Re-write cos3X as cos(2X + X)

Re-write sin2X as 2sinxcosx

For the first one, first change in terms of by setting . Use the double angle formula for also.

For the second one, use the double angle formula for and put it in terms of .

This advice is not so helpful, as although everything is in terms of the sin function, the arguments are different. In other words, you can't mix sin 2x with sin x.
