Economics was probably the hardest GCSE - I don't know if it's because hardly any shcools take it or whatever, but the marking was very harsh, and it was much harder than AS level economics for me. It might be the fact I had 5 different teachers over the course of 2 years for it though, along with the teacher being so unorganised he made us do the coursework just 3 weeks before the deadline, and coursework for that was a *****.

Was 8 marks off an A, pretty gutted but meh.

I'd say German. I got a C in German and an A in everything else including French. I just hated putting any effort into it because I didn't like the sound of it and the classes were uninspiring and full of chavs that were forced to take it.

Maybe English, even though I did well in them both, the classes were the hardest (my teacher was a harsh marker) so I came out of the exam sure I'd received a D and wouldn't get back into sixth form (N)

Oddly, my hardest GCSE was Drama rather than the "academic" subjects - but I suppose that's because I'm more academically minded. I wasn't a fantastic actor, it was actually the writing side of drama that got my grade up!

English Lit wasn't too hard but getting an A* was a bit hit and miss.
The music listening seemed to be more like "write down whatever you can think of and pray the examiner's in a good mood"
ditto to this one. i got told after the exam by my teacher i had gotten a grade D in it. still got an A overall though

for me French was the hardest subject i had and i found some subjects considered hard, easy , like history was a breeze for me but on the other hand French and English were difficult and if i had taken art i wud have failed that basically it all depends on your strengths and weakness'

For me, English Literature was the hardest (however, inverse to logic, I got an A* in it), closely followed by Additional Science and Geography.

Looking back at my GCSEs now, though, they were all really easy (even the subjects listed above) and most people should fare well with little effort.

i would say something you have to have a natural talent for like art, drama or music.
i personally found english really hard but i am dyslexic and will ever find it easy.

there isnt really such a thing as th hardest GCSE because the hardest one for each person is the one you are worst at.

It's down to personal opinion in the end.
For me... physics. Oh, I feel that getting an A* in English lit. is a little elusive... I've also heard that art is pretty hard too..
