Ok I've seen few threads here

But lets say you want to do Economics and History and Uni x

If you put down just History for Uni x as well, how does that look

    Does it look bad?

You could try. Wouldn't give you amazing odds of getting in, but if you still have a choice open, why not?

I think if one of the courses had lower entry requirements it would be worth doing.

No - but it is worth bearing in mind that Universities are usually flexible about allowing students to change courses within the first few weeks, if sufficient places are available. One of my friends applied for Single Honours English and Joint Honours English and Theology at the same University. He received the same offer for both.

Yes, it's fine, quite a few people at my school have done it. Unless the offers are very different then surely there would be no point?

I did this, simply because I only had three universities I wanted to apply to and didn't want to waste the two extra spaces. I don't see why it would be negative, unless you applied to five wildly different courses at one university, in which case it might look like you're just desperate to go there. We'll see how it goes!

Since they're linked, I wouldn't see a problem. But make sure your PS isn't dominated by Economics, but still has plenty of Econ on it, so they don't just offer you History. It's a bit of a fiddle, but it can be done.

I would've done it if I'd had a spare space.
