Hello everyone, I've got to choose my A-level choices soon, but I am struggling to decide. I'm predicted A/A*s in most of my subjects, and I got my maths gcse back on wednesday and was extremely happy with my result

My strong subjects are: Maths, History and Business
Subjects I enjoy are: Maths, History, English
Subjects I find difficult, and are out of question are: Science, French, and Art.

Please help me consider what to take, I have 4 places.

****Major point. Could someone please tell me a job that links maths with history. I love these two subjects yet can find no link between them.

Since you didn't list any careers directly I'm just going to go with your A-level options, the only thing I can think of that links maths with history is some sort of economist or stockbroker - looking at trends in the markets and such, but you would have to be interested in finance!

As one of your options was business, I think this could fit quite well!

Anyway, if I was you I would definitely take maths, I know it opens up as infinite number of career doors - all of which are well-paid and hightly respected. With this, I would actually take English, as it's so transferable (essay writing, planning etc.) and combined with maths these are the elementary subjects!

You have said you enjoy history and English more than business, if that is the case then take; English (Literature or Lit/Language - Literature is much more respected by the way!) History, Maths and business (or maybe economics if your school offers it?) at AS level and drop business at A2 level.

At the end of the day it's your decision, this is just my advice

    thanks Niki_girl!

my school does to economics, so I will talk to the head of department about it. Cheers!

you said: My strong subjects are: Maths, History and Business
Subjects I enjoy are: Maths, History, English

... so why not take: maths, history, english & business - you then have all your strong subjects plus the ones you enjoy. simples (as the meerkats say).
