You can answer the one I'm doing atm, then once I've done it I'll post my brief answer

'Describe how an action potential arriving at the neuromuscular junction can produce depolarisation of the post-synaptic membrane?

Mark scheme if you need it: http://www.ocr.org.uk/download/ms_09..._l_gce_jan.pdf

Paper reference is 2805/05 (Mammalian Physiology and Behaviour)

I got (not marking points, just my brief points)
    • Action potential arrives, opens Ca2+ channels, Ca2+ floods out
    • Encourages vesicled containing neurotransmitter to fuse with pre-synaptic membrane
    • Neurotransmitter released by excytosis and diffused across synaptic cleft
    • ACh detected by receptors on post-synaptic membrane, opens sodium channels
    • Depolarisation of sarcolemma

Explain how the lens may become cloudy (3 marks)

How can you get 3 marks for something that is basically denaturing proteins in the lens?
