Law is a difficult degree where language is crucial, you should be aware of it, right? I've applied for law too and I know that my English still sucks, even though I've been learning English for 9 years.
And they are native speakers, right? Don't try to convince them that your English is great, just brush up your language skills.

To be fair a lot of my international friends at university weren't that great before they started their degrees. It's a bit pointless going on about it before he starts university. Studying law in Britain for 3 years is likely to make a drastic improvement to his language skills, so there's a good chance it won't be an issue when he's finished.
