I have been called Irish pikey scum before, but not quite in the same sense. That made me very angry. I hate racism of any kind, and the worst thing about it was that one of the people who said it was black, so they felt like they could say that to me but it would be wrong to say anything back of the same mould (which I wouldn't, by the way, but that isn't the point). I just felt kind of hard done by, if I'd returned with a racist insult I could have been expelled from the school I was in at the time, whereas they were pretty much untouchable, despite the fact that they are both the same insult, targeting someone for race or country of origin.

You can call any group or any type by an insult.

You left out wop and mick and spear-chucker and limey and dego and red-neck and peckerwood. Even if you can't think of a particular name for a group, you can attach something else onto it (like 'Scots git').

People want to insult and they use what appears to be the defining aspect.

It is not a boast. More an unfunny joke.

WHy would I boast about being a snob? When not one?

I'll give you a pos-rep, to even it out.

And the poem in your sig is awful. I used to type and check things like that at work.

I was called a 'Paki' because I had earlier told her I was half-Iranian (born in England).

Says everything about racism and who uses it really. I would possibly be offended if it actually applied to me.

BTW don't know what pikeys/chav scum (aren't they the same?) were doing there...

    ...chav scum...

Americans tend to call British or English (I forget) 'limey'. I suppose this would be offensive if I knew what it meant without needing to be told and it didn't sound so unoffensive.

Ironically, black people ('gangsta' rappers) are generally the ones keeping the N-word alive.

Don't know why Paki is still considered racist.

This, I suppose it's because it's used as a derogatory term.

I'm white and this was an internet person.

It's like calling a Croatian a drunk, ginger ******* who rides Nessie to work.
