    I am confused by DNA Chromosomes and Genes. I was learning about mitosis and dont really understand it probably because I dont understand the difference between DNA Chromosomes and Genes.

    Are Chromosomes made out of DNA? And how many chromosomes does each cell have etc.

    Keep the level of detail to A-level.

    Gene: Sequence of DNA that codes for a specific polypeptide

    Chromosomes contain many genes, and are located in the nucleus of cells. There are 23 pairs of chromosomes in each cell.

    During Mitosis, these replicate to ensure each daughter cell has the same number of chromosomes in each (diploid cell)
