I've decided and booked my lessons for a terms worth of lessons.
    My lessons begin on Tuesday

Is there anything I can do in advance to prepare for learning the drums or anything?

buy some drumming gloves so you don't get blisters. nobody likes a girl with blistered hands

dunno if he was jokin but dont get drumming gloves. they are lame. are you co-ordinated? like can you move your hands and feet? if not then you can practise becoming co-ordinated but if yes then there's not much you can do that i can think of....

Really, no. They make you look like a fag. I have played drums for 7 years, and not once have i got blisters from playing.

The only advice i can give you is listen to music with good drums and just drum along on your lap for now, until you get a drumkit. You may look silly, but it helped my co-ordination. Most of all, enjoy yourself

so what if they look lame? if you're sat in your room or garage practicing then what is the big deal?
you have to remember girls tend to value the state of their hands.

i've played drums for like 10 years. yeah you get the odd blister if you're doing a lot of practise/playing hard but it's kind of a minor...

Get Morbid Angel's 'Altars of Madness' and play along to it in the air.
