The Pill and timing.

I'm going to the Maldives in September, and I can't work out when I take my pill - I'm guessing I need to work out the time difference and then take it at the time I should do in the UK? But I think it works out as some random time in the middle of the night - What do I do?!

You have to take it every 24 hours. So lets say...for example, if you were going from New York to London, that is a 5 hour difference..if you usually take your pill at 9am New York time, you should take it 2pm UK. What you have to do is continue to take your pills 24 hours apart.

It probably depends what pill you're on. If you're on the 21 day pill, you can usually take it 12 hours after the time you usually take it and you're ok. the 28 day pill, on the other hand, usually has to be taken within 3 hours.

You can move it back or forwards a couple of hours and it will be OK, the pack says you are still protected if you take it within a 12 hour window.

I'm paranoid and always have to take it within an hour range. Between 10-11am. I want to make sure I get that 99%.

GRR!!! I tried to do that this morning but I changed handbags right before I went out the door!! So I havent taken it for today...but I'm not going to be having sex for a week...so I'm not freaking out at the moment and running out to buy condoms, which is what I would be doing if I forgot to take my pill at my regular time. :rolleyes:

You can take your pill though up to 12 hours after the time you normally take it - though its a bit risky - any time over 12 hours and they say your not covered - a few hours though is not a big deal

OOoo, so the male pill is supposed to be coming out in 2007. HA! the bastards will have to put up with the same **** we do!!

For some reason I think that it's a bit silly that the male pill is only arriving 40 years after the female pill did...you think male doctors have been trying to sabotage research so that women are the only ones that have to deal with crap like taking the pill? :rolleyes:

i never take mine on time, i'm so posed to take it at 9pm, if im at home i might remeber but usually remember just as ive got in to bed and got all comfy lol if i'm out i'll just take it when ever i remember sometimes its on the buss on my way out and sometimes its not till the next day and ive always been fine.
